July 1 2022 We embarked on a perilous and risky venture, by opening Griffin’s Full service FLGS (Friendly Local Game Store). We were hopeful that Griffin was ready to have it’s own place to shop for the newest games as well as a place to gather to play these same games, and make a few friends along the way. It feels crazy how long ago 3 years has been. When we started this venture, we were told “if you make it 3-5 years you know you’ve made it.” Well here is 3 years and it’s been a struggle the economy teetering and shear amount of work that it takes to keep the place going.

It has also been very gratifying to be involve in many our our player’s lives. We don’t usually refer to our customers as customers, because it feels like more than just a business transaction. We were hoping to make that community connection and I think with our players help we have done that! We have seen players come and go, graduate high school, graduate collage, get married, meet their partners, have children, have even more children, and so on… We miss those that have moved away and tell stories of the good times.

And that’s what we set out to do, to make good memories. We didn’t do that by ourselves and our celebration of 3 years of business is also a celebration of all of our players that have become friends and family over the last 3 years, and a celebration of all the players that we’ll meet in the years to come! We’re excited to continue to be Griffin’s FLGS and lean hopeful into whatever may come.
